Lexus Driving

Most of the time, you can jump in your Lexus and go. But if something happens to the engine, your car can stop in its tracks. The engine is one of your car's most critical parts, which means it can cause significant problems if it is damaged or stops working. Whenever you suspect an engine problem, which includes seeing smoke under the hood or smelling a burning scent when you are driving, you should contact an expert Lexus technician for service as soon as possible. An engine problem should be diagnosed and fixed before it gets worse.

Cooling System Leaks

The cooling system in your vehicle is mainly responsible for regulating the engine's temperature. The cooling system circulates antifreeze to the engine and keeps the engine's internal temperature in the correct range throughout the system. The cooling system can develop leaks, primarily in its hoses, that will allow coolant fluid to drain out of the car rather than move through the cooling system. If there isn't enough coolant fluid in the reservoir, the cooling system's various parts, such as the water pump, can't deliver fluid to the engine. Depending on the type of antifreeze you use, a leak is likely if you notice blue, green, or orange liquid coming from your car.

Water Pump

Another important component in the cooling system is the water pump. The water pump uses pressure to deliver coolant fluid to and across the engine. If there is not enough fluid, the water pump can't supply the engine with the right amount of antifreeze. The engine's temperature will rise as a result. The water pump can also stop working if it gets clogged with dirt or other contaminants. Dirty coolant fluid can also get stuck in the pump, which means it won't be able to move through the water pump.

Low Fluid Levels

Your car's engine requires certain levels of antifreeze and oil to work. The fluids must also be clean and free of debris to help the engine work properly. Having the right kind of oil in your car is also important to ensure the engine operates normally. If you notice that the levels of oil or coolant fluid in your vehicle suddenly drop, it's a good indication that you might have a fluid leak somewhere. A mechanic can detect the leak and make repairs before you have a major problem.
