Hawksworth and Barnicoat Secure Victory In The No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 At Watkins Glen

The most recent IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event featured a dramatic finish, as drivers Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat commanded the track for 83 laps in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3. Adding to a remarkable team effort, the No. 12 Lexus car secured a strong fourth-place finish in a demanding endurance test. While winning is a regular event for Lexus Motorsports, taking first place in a race like this is always cause for celebration.

No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 Takes the Top Spot

Securing the front row starting spot is key in motorsports, and Hawksworth set an impressive pace from the start—earning his milestone 17th career IMSA pole position. He consistently ran among the top three contenders prior to passing driver duties to Barnicoat, who pushed into second before taking over first position. Hawksworth then jumped back into the seat for the final stint to secure the victory.

During long endurance races, smart strategy during pit stops is essential for making setup adjustments and preserving track position. Taking their last pit stop with 54 minutes left on the clock, Hawksworth executed a masterclass drive to cross the finish line first. It was a standout performance for the Lexus RC F GT3, representing the car's 19th IMSA race win and the 17th overall for Vasser Sullivan.

The winning duo shared their thoughts following the race.

Jack Hawksworth remarked:

"We had an amazing Lexus RC F today. It was fantastic all race long and we had a lot thrown at us throughout the whole race. Sometimes we were back down to fourth and then we would come back to the lead. The Vasser Sullivan team just did an amazing job."

Ben Barnicoat noted:

"Yeah, absolutely. It's been a long time coming. I'm so proud of everyone on this Vasser Sullivan and Lexus Racing team. We've had a lot of pace and done a lot of great things on this team, it just all hasn't quite clicked. I felt like we could've won on a lot of other opportunities this season, but it just hasn't worked. I felt like it was our day. I'm really proud of everyone on this Vasser Sullivan team and my teammate Jack. We're closing the points gap and we're coming back."
