For 2021, the Lexus RX will see no significant changes, but this luxury midsized crossover SUV remains a favorite, with an opulent interior, and top ride quality. Its trim levels offer a full range of features to cover a variety of driver tastes.

What Features are Available for 2021?

There are six RX trims: the 350, 350 F Sport, 350L, 450h, 450h F Sport, and 450hL. The base RX trim gets a plethora of standard features, including a power-adjustable steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered tailgate, and 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat. The standard infotainment system consists of an 8-inch screen, a 9-speaker audio system with Bluetooth, USB, and auxiliary input. You can stay connected with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, along with Siri Eyes Free for iPhone, and Amazon Alexa.

Included on the Lexus 350L is a power-folding 3rd-row seat, rear-seat climate controls, the 450hL gets second-row captain's chairs. The 350 F Sport and 450h F Sport includes 20-inch alloy wheels, F Sport styling enhancements, including a blackout mesh grille, and sport suspension. The RX 350 F Sport gets F Sport front seats. The Lexus RX 450h gets all-wheel drive, Vehicle Dynamic Integration Management, EV drive mode, and concealed exhaust.

2021 Lexus RX optional equipment includes a moonroof, heated/ventilated front seats, hands-free tailgate, 12.3-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, 360-degree camera system, wireless charging, a premium 15-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, a head-up display, heated steering wheel, and rear-seat dual-screen DVD entertainment system.

Lexus Reform Remote is offered complimentary for three years, allowing you to not only lock/unlock the doors, and start the engine, but check the fuel level.

How Much Power Does the RX Have?

There are several engine choices for the 2021 Lexus RX. The RX 350 and RX 350 F Sport are powered by a 3.5-liter V6, rated up to 295 hp, and 267 lb-ft of torque. The longer wheelbase RX 350L and RX 350L F Sport, are powered by the same engine, but the L variants have five less horsepower because they have single exhaust pipes.

The RX 450h and RX 450hL have a 3.5-liter V6 with a 123-kW electric motor, 308 hp, and 247 lb-ft of torque.

2021 Brings a Wide Selection of Safety Tech

There is plenty of safety technology onboard the RX, no matter which trim level you choose. A favorite safety feature, Lexus Safety System+ 2.0, is standard on all RX models. It includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, road sign recognition, radar-based all-speed adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning with pedestrian/bicycle detection, automatic high beams, and lane-keeping/lane-departure assistance. The 2021 RX has the Lexus Enform Safety Connect, a complimentary service offered for ten years, includes automatic collision notification, roadside assistance, stolen vehicle notification, and an SOS button.
