Now in its fourth generation of production, the Lexus GS does not have any changes for 2020. However, the GS 300, long a trim choice, is gone. This midsize sedan from Lexus is now known as the "GS 350," named after the displacement of its engine.
You can pick up a 2020 Lexus GS as a GS 350 or GS 350 F SPORT variant. The F SPORT departs from the regular trim with its sports-style touches, which include performance-inspired digital instrumentation, aluminum pedals, and perforated leather seats. (The regular variant has leather upholstery). Available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, the GS has two rows of seats to accommodate up to five people. The front row includes a 16-way power-adjustable driver's seat with 2-position memory.
For comfort and convenience, the GS has amenities such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a color multi-information display, a smart key system with push-button engine start, 24/7 access to a live response center agent when needed, voice command technology, a garage-door opener, Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, the mouse-like Remote Touch controller for executing information functions.
The tech-enabled GS also features Amazon Alexa capability, Siri Eyes Free for virtual assistance, a 12-speaker stereo system with an AM/FM radio tuner, HD Radio technology, a USB port for hooking up portable devices, a navigation system, a 10-year subscription to Lexus Enform Service Connect for vehicle health reporting and maintenance needs, three complimentary months of SiriusXM Radio, free weather and traffic alerts, and a 12.3-inch color touchscreen.
The 2020 Lexus GS is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The V6 is mated to an electronically controlled 8-speed automatic transmission, which is accompanied by paddle shifters for simulating a more exciting drive. Depending on your configuration, the GS can go from 0 to 60 mph in as fast as 5.7 seconds, and it can get you up to 20/28 mpg in fuel economy.
The 2020 Lexus GS is stuffed with several standard safety features, which include a rearview camera, a head-up display, electronic vehicle stability control, hill start assist control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, traction control, parking assist, LED daytime running lights, and roadside assistance courtesy of a 10-year complimentary subscription to Lexus Enform Safety Connect.
The safety features also include a suite of driver-assistance technologies, which comprise adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, smart stop technology, and rear cross-traffic alert.
