Specs at a Glance
The NX 300 is a compact luxury vehicle from Lexus. The SUV stands out for its top-notch safety amenities, which it gets even more of in 2021. This year, Lexus adds blind-spot monitoring to its list of standard safety items. Auto-dimming side mirrors are also a new safety item for the Lexus this year. Other than the new safety tools, the Lexus is essentially the same as it was in 2020.
The NX 300 comes in three trim levels, from the NX 300 to the NX 300 Luxury base model. The NX 300 gets plenty of standard features, including Amazon Alexa, while the Luxury trim tops the line with an even longer list of upscale amenities. Both trims seat five people and have a comfortable, classy, and well-appointed interior.
Performance
The Lexus NX 300 has one engine that powers both the base trim level and the Luxury trim. The engine is a turbo four-cylinder that uses gasoline. All trims of the NX 300 have a maximum power output of 235 HP with the engine, which has a 2.5L displacement and 16 valves. The NX 300's engine produces up to 258 LB-FT in torque at a range of 1,650 to 4,000 RPM. The regular NX 300 engine is a low-emission engine. A hybrid version of the NX 300 is also available with minor variations in performance. Front-wheel drive comes standard as the drivetrain, but all-wheel drive is available from the base through Luxury trim levels.
Appearance
LED headlights are standard starting on the NX 300 base trim. This trim gets LED taillights as well, and daytime running lights are included for optimal visibility. The mirrors are heated and power-folding for both trims. Roof rails are standard, beginning with the NX 300. Enhanced LED lights are an upgrade added to the Luxury trim, and they are available on the base trim level with a package. The base NX 300 has 17-inch wheels upgraded to 18-inch wheels at the top trim level.
Features
The NX 300 base trim and Luxury both have an eight-inch infotainment system. Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay are standard amenities across the board. The Luxury trim also adds navigation to its infotainment system to provide you with directions and other capabilities on demand. Dual-zone climate control with air filters is standard, along with 10-way adjustable seats. The base trim has simulated leather seats, while the Luxury gets perforated leather seating.
